CSR

Nowadays, Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, has become an important key to every organization. It helps to improve the corporate image and supports the business sustainability in the long run. Because of these benefits and being the national airline of Thailand, Thai airways have established a code of conduct as a corporate mission to serve and contribute towards the betterment of society. Today, I will talk about five of the current CSR projects that Thai Airways have put in place: 1) The first one is the “Thai’s reforestation project” which has been carried out for more than 12 years. The project encourages and provides opportunity for Thai airways staff to show our cares to the environment by planting the forest together – making a greener environment and to offset our carbon emissions contibuted to the climate change. 2) The second project is the “Book of voices project – Porn jak fah”. Thai airways have set up a voice-recording room to facilitate the volunteers in recording the reading of speech by the King. This project provides opportunity for us to share knowledge and encouragements to the blinds and students in school. 3) The third project involves the use of vegetable products from the Royal agricultural schemes. This royal project not only makes the dishes from Thai airways’ kitchen fresh and safe, but also helps supporting the Thai rural farmers. 4) The fourth project is the “Boarder patrol police school” which aims to build schools, offers lunch and activities for poor children in the rural and boarder areas of Thailand. From year to year, we also have the project called “Pa Nong Tong Fah” which was organized on Childrend’s day to provide opportunity for poor children around the world to come visit Bangkok via flying by Thai airways. 5) Last but not least, the “Thai’s jumbo Village in Surin” is the fifth project which Thai airways has been engaged in protecting the elephants and developing their surrounding areas. In the last April, My family and I had a chance to visit this place in Surin. We were very impressed by the show from these lovely elephants. It is really recommended. If you have a chance, please pay a visit and show your kind support to them.
And before I end this talk, I would also like to encourage everyone, when opportunity comes, to support and participate in the CSR projects that we have in Thai airways. A small contribution from each of us can drive both the future of our company and the society as a whole.
